Having been born in 1958 in Southern California, much of my childhood was spent eating processed foods, which was not uncommon. I carried those practices into my adulthood, which was a life devoted to career and living in the "fast lane". I was not taught to cook growing up, so cooking for my family usually consisted of boxed substances, pastas, and fast foods. The Lord has taught me to have faith and slow down, and to trust him for what I need. To slow down and pay attention to what He has provided for REAL nutrition, instead of the inadequate chemical-laden fake food designed for marketing and financial gain. Once again, mankind has tried to pervert the beautiful simplicity of what God has already provided from the start.

Once I began the journey of eating (and living) according to The Daniel Plan, my entire health life changed. I had suffered from depression and anxiety my entire adult life and had been taking two anti-depressant prescription drugs for over 20 years. I was also on two prescription drugs for high blood pressure and one for high cholesterol for 13 years. I wore an estrogen patch for menopausal symptoms (hot flashes, brain fog, etc.) for four years, and took prescription strength doses of ibuprofen (NSAID) for generalized muscular aches and pains due to an auto-immune disease and spinal problems. I had not been able to drink milk for 35 years due to lactose intolerance, suffered from chronic hyponatremia (low salt levels in my blood), hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), and low vitamin D levels.

I have slowed down the pace of my life CONSIDERABLY, making my relationship with God first and foremost.

Undaunted: Daring to Do What God Calls You to Do Audible – Unabridged ridged
Author: Christine Caine ID: B0091NRBO0

Christine Caine offers life-transforming insights about how not only to overcome the challenges, wrong turns, and often painful circumstances we all experience, but also to actually grow from those experiences and be equipped and empowered to help others. Using her own dramatic life story, Caine shows how God rescued her from a life in which she was unnamed, unwanted, and unqualified. She tells how she overcame abuse, abandonment, fears, and other challenges to go on a mission of adventure, fueled by faith, and filled with love and courage. Her personal stories inspire listeners to hear their name called, just as Christine heard her own – “You are beloved. You are the hope. You are chosen” – to go into a dark and troubled world, knowing each of us possess all it takes to bring hope, create change, and live completely for Christ. Part inspirational tale, part manifesto to stir listeners to lives of adventure, this book shows the way with spiritual wisdom and insight. Her mission to fight injustice by focusing on one person at a time will inspire and awe listeners with how we are joined in a unique mission, products of eternity, positioned in time, pressed to make the most of our lives on a quest filled with adventure and drawn by faith.

Through the last month, I have been reading Christine Cain’s book Undaunted. It has been a book I wish I could have read when I was in my early 20’s because of how powerful it has been to me. Christine is an Australian who has traveled the world speaking to various groups and her heart is to reach those who have been victims of human trafficking, or sex trafficking. Her and her husband started the organization A21 Campaign to help expose the problem of human trafficking and eventually and hopefully bring it to an end. The fact that it is even a problem in this world today tells an even bigger story of the depravity of humanity.

When you think of human trafficking, what first comes to mind is slavery and dealing with older people. However, the problem does not just involve older people, it involves people of all ages. The even more unfortunate part of human trafficking is the fact the biggest targets for those in human trafficking are little children through teenagers. When I say children, just being open and honest here of the severity of the problem, it can mean kids as young as infants. Let that sink in for a second. Romans 1:30 speaks of how humans can be "inventors of evil." Little kids are taken from their homes and beaten and abused by others for their own pleasure and profit. How has the human race become so depraved as to actually do something so hideous and horrible? This breaks my heart even more now that I have an almost 3 year old daughter at home. Unfortunately, it does not break my heart like it should and as it no doubt breaks the heart of God.

Christine shares personal stories of how God brought her to the place of giving all she has to this cause and how He helped her overcome fears and feelings of inadequacy to actually begin doing something.
Undaunted: Daring to do what God calls you to doHuman sex trafficking is a hot topic in some segments of the media in our day and age. But, while many discuss this epidemic problem and how it devalues life and enslaves multitudes who are trapped in it’s snare, very few are willing, unafraid and determined to do something about it. Enter Christine Caine. And, while her new book Undaunted, is not exclusively about the sex trafficking industry, it does explore what it means to obey God in the face of fear, uncertainty and giants that stand in our way from the vision He has given us to fulfill. Part of her vision is the founding of A21, an organization dedicated to rescue those who are bound in the nightmare of sex trafficking. The book tells the story of how A21 began, as well as many other of Christine’s life changing encounters with the God who inspired her to live undaunted in life.

Before I give any detail about the book itself, let me begin by saying that it was a fantastic book to read, and if I had only been able to keep my eyes open (alas, I was not able), I would have probably finished it in one sitting. Christine Caine is widely sought after conference speaker who has a tremendous ability to communicate simple truths in profound ways and with memorable illustrations. This book is no exception and is filled with her own personal pains and joys, which weave a picture of the hand of God at work in the lives of those who willingly submit themselves to be touched by his hand.

The book is not a theology text, if that’s what’s you were expecting.
